"Szenarien"

FEB 2020  -   FEB2022

Why do we feel connected with friends or family and sometimes ignore strangers? How are these invisible bonds in life created and how can a form of „togetherness“ or human interaction be expressed?

Looking for a medium that lays between photography and moving image. I am convinced, that a journey or period of time can be visualized in a single picture! I want to create an image which shows, how two or more people spend time together.

Whenever I see somebody these days, I place a cyanotype underneath or in the space between us. Allowing for interaction to happen on top of it. This creates a blueprint, a mark of our social activity and interaction over time. More than the click of a button, and the freezing of specific situation, the cyanotype records what the camera never could. As it is not about a moment, but recording all ongoing events, taken place over a period of time, in one image.

It is interesting to me, because my last work dealt with similar emotions but in the public space. I was capturing human emotions and the feeling of being alone, within the shortest of time frames. Now I am focusing on private interactions, that have been made so much more precious in these uncertain times of the corona pandemic.
